Der Outlaw in Bern
Playing football is something that will not last forever so every opportunity I get to play the game I love cannot be taken lightly. Over that past 2 seasons I've had to sit back and watch others play while I have been waiting for my chance. And now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, in an opportunity to play for the Bern Grizzlies. The Grizzlies have always been one of the toughest teams in the swiss league, and I feel I will fit in very well with this hard-nosed group of guys.
The cancelation of the French league was very disappointing, but expected. This put me in an unfamiliar situation because I am still committed to playing and building a future in Thonon for the Black Panthers and want to find a team that will allow me to stay close to Thonon but also has the ability to compete for a championship.
For all my new teammates and all the Grizzly fans I am beyond excited to get on the field and represent the Grizzlies and complete for a Championship. Nothing beats a group of guys coming together and tirelessly working towards winning a Championship. And I am ready to give everything I have in our pursuit to bring the Swiss Bowl back to Bern.
And I would be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to one of our opponents more than the rest. The Broncos are the best team in Switzerland and one of the top teams in all of Europe. Playing a team of this stature is a tough but exciting challenge and the fact that my friends also play on the other side adds to the excitement. I have nothing but respect for everyone in the Broncos organization but I have been waiting for this game for 3 years.
